WORLD WAR II Era Soviet IZHEVSK ARSENAL Model 38 Mosin-Nagant C&R CARBINE
Russian Made World War II Dated “1944”
Description: WORLD WAR II Era Soviet IZHEVSK ARSENAL Model 38 Mosin-Nagant C&R CARBINE Russian Made World War II Dated “1944” Here we present a C&R Soviet Mosin-Nagant Model 38 Carbine, made in 1944 at the Izhevsk Arsenal. This carbine was adopted by the Russian military in 1938 and called the "7,62 mm Carbine, Model of the Year 1938", commonly known as the M38 in the United States, and it wasn’t placed into production until 1939. It was built at Izhevsk between 1939 and 1945 and was basically a shorter version of the M91/30. The Model 38 was not designed to accept a bayonet since it's intended use was by rear area troops. Stocks made in 1939 and early 1940 had the rear barrel band shoulder close to the rear sight base but this was soon moved forward to bring the pattern in line with the typical M91/30 stock configuration, with the exception of the fore-end. Soviet M38 carbines were also used by a number of different countries and can be identified by additional marks or conditions and features unique to these countries. No other countries built their own M38s and any apparent non-Soviet M38, especially from Poland, Hungary, Romania, or China, is likely an M44/T53 with the bayonet lug removed. The overall condition is fine. Excellent action. The bore is in good shape with decent rifling. Has been counter-bored at the muzzle. Solid stock, remains in fine shape with less than average handling. Legible markings. “1941” dated barrel. “PW REDMOND” import marked. Numbers match. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 20 inches. Caliber: 7.62x54R Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1100 #226611 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
