Mossberg Model 42M - Bolt Action Repeater - .22 Rifle - Mannlicher walnut 2 piece stock and forend with raised cheek plate , sling swivels and trap door magazine storage metal butt plate. 23 In. long barrel with S-102 Micro- click peep sight , open adj. rear sight and a ramped front hooded sight. Bore is clean and bright. Barrel and receiver are retraining 95% bluing. 7 - Round clip magazine. Stock and forend are in exceptional condition with minimal handling marks. Includes a new soft sleeve. Manufactured from 1940 to 1950. The Mossberg model 42M was selected as the small caliber training rifle to go to war during WWII. Ten thousand were sent to Britain to similate the standard Lee Enfiel No. 4 that was issued to British troops. Variations that followed were the 42M - b- c- and 42 TR. This is a beautiful survivor from that era. Collector quality.
