Here we present a C&R O.F. Mossberg & Sons Model 46B .22 Caliber Rimfire Rifle made during its production run between 1947 and 1949 in New Haven, Connecticut. O.F. Mossberg & Sons, often commonly referred to as Mossberg, is an American firearms manufacturer with a rich history dating back to the early 20th century. Mossberg made this same model in 3 different configurations throughout the 1940s with various aperture sights and features. The Mossberg rimfires are still considered very accurate. 

The Mossberg Model 46B is a bolt-action rifle that typically came with a 20-round tubular magazine. This capacity allows for extended shooting sessions without frequent reloading. This would have been the rifle that a boy learned on, plinked, and hunted with. There wasn’t anything fancy here, just pop them wherever they were and take ‘em home for mom to cook.
The overall condition is nearing fine. Original blue finish is preserved. This example sports a solid stock with less than average wear. Crisp action. Legible markings. The bore is bright and strong rifling.
