Japanese reproduction Tanegashima Matchlock rifle. Full stock Japanese hardwood stock. Barrel is octagon 15/16" flats .50 caliber smoothbore and is 41.5" in length. Traditional Japanese iron sights. Brass furniture. 54 3/4" length overall. Manufactured by Miroku in Japan. This is new old stock.
This is Dixie Gun Works catalog number MM0005A which is no longer available. The serial number is 045. This matchlock is rare and very hard to find.. This is an oversized shipment item. Dixie Gun Works say the reccomented charge is 45 grns of FFg powder over a .490 roundball and .015" patch. This is a muzzleloading weapon,black powder weapon. A very heavy barrel, smooth bore is very good. and has all original factory blue.
