Description: LONG DISCONTINUED THOMPSON-CENTER .50 CALIBER PERCUSSION HAWKEN RIFLE. These fine American made rifles were discontinued about a dozen years ago and are becoming hard to find. They feature 28" octagon barrels, brass furniture and patch boxes, engraved case colored locks, double set triggers and an adjustable rear barrel sight. They are also factory drilled and tapped on the upper tang for peep sights. Nicely grained walnut stock, This example with serial number 224XXX appears unused and comes with the Thompson-Center "SHOOTING BLACK POWDER GUNS" book still attached to the trigger guard. The book is quite informative and aside from the usual instructions for loading/firing muzzle loading rifles and single shot pistols, gives load data with charge weights of powder and muzzle velocities with both round balls and grooved bullets.
