For sale is a Browning Jonathan Browning Mountain Rifle black powder muzzleloader, chambered in .50 caliber. This rifle is in great used condition and represents a beautiful, classy, accurate, and hard-hitting piece of American firearms history. Made in America and hard to come by – these rifles are increasingly collectible. Serial Number: 857PY01060.
This rifle features a heavy octagonal barrel (30 inches) with a dovetail-installed front blade sight and a height-adjustable buckhorn rear sight. The overall length is 47 inches and it weighs 9 lbs 6 oz – it is front-heavy, as is typical for this style of rifle. The rifle has a blued barrel and a case-hardened lock, with brass furniture including a brass trigger guard, patch box, and crescent buttplate. The stock is a one-piece walnut in a Monte Carlo style with a straight comb – showing striking figure with a smooth, rich finish and decent signs of handling (scratches). The ramrod is included.
