A quality hand built early style DOGLOCK with no makers mark, I'm not sure who it is that made this fine gun!.Caliber is about .75 smooth bore, Most of these were from Spain or Italy, but I don't see any proofs. Possibly made in the U.S., you can see no maker mark on the lock-plate and then decide. The gun measures about 62" long with a round barrel of 45" and clean smooth bore. This is a firing gun Not a model or toy. The metal is in the white as issued in the 1570 to 1640 era. The walnut type wood is very clean and comes with an iron ram -rod. which is correct for the era. This is pre-flintlock era doglock thar preceded the true flintlock, and this gun is a very good repesentation of the pilgrim era first settlers musket. . This has been set up to fire as the frizzen has been professionaly hardened. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting.
