Stunning Flintlock .54 Caliber rifle built by nationally acclaimed Colonial Gunsmith, the late G.L. Jones (1952-2019). 42” octagonal barrel. Double set triggers. Stock is crafted from a nicely figured striped maple with hand carved decoration; brass fittings and hand engraved trigger guard and butt plate. . Double set triggers. Barrel and lock are blacked. Top of barrel marked “G.La. Jones Va.”. Overall length is 57 ½”. LOP is 14 ¼” to front trigger. The rifle is in excellent condition with some signs of lite handling. There are scuff(s)/scratch(es) on the brass patch box. Appears to be unfired. A real beauty.
G.L. Jones was considered by many to be the finest contemporary Colonial (long hunter era 1750-1815) rifle makers in the country and was one of the foundiers of the American Long Rifle Association. Please see the photos. SOLD
