This is a high-quality reproduction of the Model 1728, 69 Cal. infantry musket. By Valley forge arsonal. The famous Charleville Musket line were all various upgrades to the 1728. The round sling swivels were mounted to the sides of a barrel band and stock. The 47 inch round barrel is made of Type BS-970 gun steel. The Frizzen is case hardened and throws a lot of sparks. We do the final assembly, then test fire each gun with a 70 grain charge of AA Pyrodex. The 1728 was the last French musket to use the (Cows Foot) curve down buttstock.
This would be the correct weapon for a Reenacter doing a French and Indian War impression. It is also correct for an American revolutionary war Impression as thousands of these muskets were sold and sent to America at the start of the war.
