These rifles were produced in the early 1980s, and were one of the most authentic “Hawken Style” rifles made, then or now. They were made for a few years however the much less expensive, less quality, and less authentic Thompson Center rifles were more popular due to the much lower cost. The 30” browned barrel is one inch across the flats, one turn in 62”, excellent bevel muzzle for ease of loading, .50 caliber is excellent for all hunting in North America. The German Silver double wedge beautiful walnut stock is excellent with a few small handling marks has authentic type iron furniture. The single set trigger is adjustable as well. To set the trigger just push forward on it until it clicks then it is set. Ram’s horn curl breech plug is very attractive. Adjustable buckhorn sight and flat blade front sight. Original book and Lyman .490 round ball mold are included. Capable of taking up to 120 gr of powder these are very accurate powerful rifles, although great accuracy, fun, and lower cost are had with 80 gr of double F, and patched round ball.
