Navy Arms Buffalo Hunter .58 percussion excellent condition and bore
Description:
Here is a replica from Navy Arms that gives the traditional muzzle-loading shooter the ulimate in a deer rifle. Navy Arms imported these from Italy many years ago. I think Val Forgett, the founder of Navy Arms, may have shot an elephant with one but it's been awhile since I heard the story so I may have it garbled. This is a .58 caliber with the same type of rifling as in Civil War muskets designed to shoot the 400-500 grain mini-balls Rather than the cumbersome military styling, these are made like a half-stock rifle. Black powder only of course. I have shot round balls in these with good sucess as well. This one is in very good condition with a bright shiny well-rifled bore. Action works perfectly. I had forgotten these guns but fortunately had a 1976 Black Powder Gun Digest to look at and found them listed for $160. This could almost be called an "antique replica". But it would have been my choice if South Dakota ever would issue permits for a the muzzle-loading deer season. Can be shipped to your door unless local regs prohibit. $50 shipping and insurance via priority mail.
