Highly finished J.Purdey  single barrel rook rifle.  Chambered 6.5X70R.   26" octagon barrel, serrated mat finish, one standing and two folding sights.  An outstanding example completed in 1913 and later converted in Austria for the more versatile 6.5 round.   Auto eject and auto safe. The action features raised carved fences and is fully engraved with "J Purdey & Sons" surrounded by the finest English scroll.  Extremely detailed, note the extended trigger plate and shotgun trigger guard that gives an elegant look to the svelte lines of this little single shot rifle at just 5lbs, 10 oz with a 14-1/2" pull . The caliber conversion makes this quite versatile as a stalking rifle . Comes with 100 rounds of new Bertram brass.  Just look at all the detail as seen in the photos.   The shadow line cheekpiece, flat top checkering, buffalo horn for end tip blend together to create a very special little jewel. Beautiful vivid case colors and fire blue just leap out and provide a visual delight. For the collector or shooter, a rare and wonderful Purdey in every way.
