Description:
J. Purdy & Sons Self Opening Double Rifle in .375 H&H Magnum ( Belted Rimless), bright finish bolstered frame w/ side clips, Purdy's well executed rose & scroll, gold lined cocking indicators, as well as a disk set strikers and double triggers w/ a bolted safety marked "Safe" and "Bolted" in gold. Rolled trigger bow that extends to the trap grip cap an extended top tang on a highly figured European walnut stock with a right hand cheekpiece and leather coverd pad as well as drop points. The beavertail forend is nicely shaped and has an Anson push rod release. The Chopper lump barrels are 23" w/ a third bite rib extention and factory claw mounts on the rib for the 1.25-6 x 42mm Schmidt & Bender rifle scope, rings are correctly engraved and serial numbered to the rifle. Gun is complete in the original maker's leather case w/ accessories and leather & canvas slip cover. Gun is in as new condition. A very rare and well made rifle.
