Remington Model 1870 Egyptian Rolling Block Infantry 11.43x50R mm caliber rifle. 35” Round barrel with an excellent bore, which is unusual for one of these. Converted to a training rifle by the removal of the firing pin and extractor. The action pins and retaining plate are replacements. Metal is very good with a smooth brown patina. Buttstock is good with three storage scrapes on the right and a knot imperfection on the left. The forend is good with a 3½ crack at the left middle band. Both sling swivels, the sight, and cleaning rod are present. The barrel has the expected Farsi characters at the breech. The upper tang has the normal Remington marking. The left-side of the receiver has a crescent with “E.P.” at the top. Overall, this is a better than average Egyptian rolling block infantry rifle. The action functions correctly not that you’re going to shoot it!
