Remington - Keene Carbine, 45-70 Govt. Very nice Original Condition
Description: A very nice example of a Remington-Keene Carbine in it's original condition. Chambered and marked in 45-70 and equipped with a 20" barrel. Serial #S141 marked on the outside of receiver. Overall it's in a very nice, functional condition and has been in the same collection for 20 years. Original finish on the stock, which is showing some normal usage marks with no cracks or major defects. Action is tight, cycles freely and closes tighly. Bore is bright with strong rifling but has a few light shadow areas in the rifling from storage oxidation over it's many years (low resolution bore pics are available). Overall finish is very nice with normal wear considering it's age and usage. There's some light case still visible on the hammer and rear band. There are several light scrapes/gouges on the barrel by the rear band. We figure a caveman tried to remove the rear band/forend cap at some point in the rifles past.
