REMINGTON MODEL 12CS SLIDE ACTION RIFLE IN CALIBER 22 REM SPECIAL

Description:
24 inch octagon barrel with a bright near excellent bore showing a few spots of minor pitting with strong rifling throughout. Sights include a steel bead front sight and sporting rear sight.The barrel and magazine retain about a good amount of thinning original blue. Shows some edge wear with most surfaces toning to brown. All markings remain crisp. The receiver is mostly a brown and gunmetal with strong remnants of original blue. The 10-groove walnut forend and straight grip buttstock are in very good condition with just a few dings and handling marks throughout. A few more lengthy scratches on the buttstock and “E.M.” carved at the lower tang. Functions well mechanically.  Though original Remington-branded .22 Special ammunition is now a collector's item, manufacturers like Winchester and CCI still produce new .22 WRF ammunition for vintage rifles.
