Custom Engraved Remington Model 660 Rifle in .308 Winchester
SOLD
Description:
For sale, a beautiful custom Remington Model 660 that has been engraved and restocked. Remington only made the Model 660 for four years, from 1968 to 1971. Since that time they have developed a reputation as a super accurate rifle that is both handy in the woods and super precise on the bench. Someone thought enough of this rifle to spend a lot of money on it by having it tastefully engraved and custom stocked. The attractive engraving is a well executed and deep vine pattern that covers the entire exposed area of the receiver and the first 6 inches of the barrel. The molded plastic trigger guard and floorplate is just slightly warped; common on virtually every Remington 660 we have ever encountered. This one is much better than most in that regard, as you can see in the pictures The stock appears to be maple and has four panels of basket weave and oak leaf carving. It comes with a Weaver 1 piece base and has no iron sights. The bore on this rifle is pristine with sharp rifling. This 660 is chambered for the .308 Win. cartridge, far and away the most popular chambering in this rifle and most other short action rifles. The overall length of this custom 660 is 39 inches, and the length of pull is 14 1/4 inches. The custom work on this rifle alone would likely cost more to have done today than our asking price! This gun would fit great in to any custom rifle collection as a unique and probably one of a kind addition.
