Description:
This gun was rebarreled to 6mm06, this was a wildcat introduced in the mid 50's to significanlty increase the balistics produced by the 243/244/6mm Rem class of Varmint/ Deer/Antelope long range cal. It is a hot rod with performance not much different from a 240 Weatherby. With light 55 gr Varmint bullets it can be loaded with muzzle velocities a good bit over 4000 and with bullets suitable for deer and antelope 3100 to 3300 approx. The barrel is 26" We do not know the maker of the barrel, we have not taken it apart. It is in excellent shape with only modest hadling marks and two small areas of lighted blue on top of the barrel . This is a Wildcat cal, ammunition is not commercially avail and it must be hand loaded. Brass is easily formed from either 30 06, 270 or 25 06 brass.
