Remington Model 700 CDL .300 Winchester Magnum Matte Blue 26” New in Box
Description: The Remington Model 700 is one of the most famous, and most popular bolt action rifles ever made, so much so that it is still in production 60 years after its introduction! The Model 700 rifle has been used all over the world by hunters, military snipers, police, and match target shooters. Present company is the 700 CDL. The stock is a sleek, satin-finished walnut with a black fore-end cap. It is fitted with a solid rubber butt pad. The 26” barrel uses ultra-precise 5R rifling to provide perfect shot placement on the target. This 700 CDL uses the X-Mark Pro trigger which can be adjusted for pull weight. Magazine capacity is 3 rounds plus one in the chamber. The floor plate is hinged so that, if necessary, the cartridges can be dumped all at once rather than having to be cycled through the action one at a time. Combined with the classic .300 Winchester Magnum, the CDL would make an excellent long-range hunting rifle. The .300 Win Mag was originally introduced in 1963 and was from the .338 Winchester Magnum. The wildcat cartridge .30-338 Win Mag was fairly popular, but Winchester unfortunately allowed Norma to beat them to the punch with the .308 Norma Magnum in 1960. Since that cartridge was very similar to the .30-338, Winchester decided to make their cartridge different by setting the shoulder 4.0 mm (0.156 in.) forward of the .338 Win Mag’s shoulder and lengthening the overall case length by 3.0 mm (0.120 in.). This meant the neck length was shorter than the diameter of the bullet, similar to the .300 Savage. At the time the cartridge was released, a short neck was still considered very undesirable, many believing it to result in subpar accuracy. This, coupled with the release of the excellent 7mm Remington Magnum in 1962, meant that the .300 Win Mag initially struggled to makes sales. Over the years, however, the .300 Win Mag has proved itself worldwide as a reliable magnum round and has seen much use in hunting, benchrest shooting competitions, and has even seen use by law enforcement and military forces as a sniper cartridge. The rifles used were usually derivatives of the Remington 700, such as the M24 Sniper Weapon System, the M2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle, and the Mk. 13. The Remington 700 CDL is most suited for use as a hunting rifle at long range. Rifle Caliber: .300 Winchester Magnum Manufacturer: Remington Arms Co.
