Ready for the late season hunt. Many experts feel a quality semi auto to be the best tyrp of rifle for woods deer hunting. Not to spray rounds all over the landscape but if an animal is wounded one stands a greater chance of stopping it and preventing suffering or a lost animal by allowing fast follow up shots withouth having to take ones eye off of the site picture
Not too often found in desireable .308; it is known that 90% of all 742's were chambered in 30-06 with the remaining 10% split between 243, 6mm, 270, 222, 223 and perhaps other cals.
Note: actual date of manufacture is Nov 1969, not 1968
The metal and all blued parts are in good to very good with normal hunting marks and evidence of use. The stock has a some scratches and bumps consistant with the over 50 yrs this gun has been around the most significant is on the rite side....For an upcharge we can swap this stock out with another gun we have...inquire. Overall cond it about 80 to 85% approx.

Not to spray rounds all over the landscape but if an animal is wounded one stands a greater chance of stopping it and preventing suffering or a lost animal by allowing fast follow up shots withouth having to take ones eye off of the site picture
Not too often found in desireable .308; it is known that 90% of all 742's were chambered in 30-06 with the remaining 10% split between 243, 6mm, 270, 222, 223 and perhaps other cals.

The metal and all blued parts are in good to very good with normal hunting marks and evidence of use. The stock has a some scratches and bumps consistant with the over 50 yrs this gun has been around the most significant is on the rite side....For an upcharge we can swap this stock out with another gun we have...inquire. Overall cond it about 80 to 85% approx.
