Very hard to find a true 742 Carbine in .308 Marked Carbine with 18 1/2 factory barrel
Condition overall is very good to excellent. Light edge wear bottom of receiver from being carried but otherwise very few handling marks to metal or nicely figured handsome American Walnut Stock.
90 % of all 742's were chambered in 30 06...with the remaining 10% avail in a number of other cals of which .308 was one...so these are scarce.
This gun has a Weaver Base with parts of a mount we love ...a tip off or swing away which allows the scope to swing off to the side should it be fogged or obscured by snow or rain and then snaps back into place without changing point of impact
We proabably have the top part of the rings in our old scope parts...If buyer reminds us we will look for them before shipping bu tnot guaranteed.

Very hard to find a true 742 Carbine in .308 Marked Carbine with 18 1/2 factory barrel
Condition overall is very good to excellent. Light edge wear bottom of receiver from being carried but otherwise very few handling marks to metal or nicely figured handsome American Walnut Stock.
90 % of all 742's were chambered in 30 06...with the remaining 10% avail in a number of other cals of which .308 was one...so these are scarce.
This gun has a Weaver Base with parts of a mount we love ...a tip off or swing away which allows the scope to swing off to the side should it be fogged or obscured by snow or rain and then snaps back into place without changing point of impact
We proabably have the top part of the rings in our old scope parts...If buyer reminds us we will look for them before shipping bu tnot guaranteed.
