Description:
NEW LOWERED PRICE!! Description:
Up for sale is an exceptional, collector-grade Remington Model 760 Gamemaster Carbine chambered in .308 Winchester. Manufactured in 1965, this is the sought-after early production variant featuring the factory-correct 18.5" barrel. Condition:
Metal: 98% original deep factory bluing. Excellent coverage including the high-wear tip of the barrel.
Action/Bore: The bore is mint with sharp lands and dark, clean grooves. The pump action is "Remington slick" and locks up tight.
Wood: Beautiful original Walnut with only the lightest handling marks consistent with careful storage.
Note: Minor light carry marks on the magazine floorplate only.
Optics & Mount:
This rifle is topped with a period-perfect Leupold Vari-X III 1.5-5x20mm Safari scope ($575 value alone). It features the Fine Duplex reticle in a classic gloss finish to match the rifle. It is seated in a Weaver Low Tip-Off mount, allowing for a low profile and quick acquisition in heavy brush. The "Why" YOU SHOULD BUY THIS FIREARM:
The .308 Carbine is widely considered the ultimate "Amesbury" style tracking rifle. Finding an early '60s specimen in this condition—nearly untouched since the Lyndon B. Johnson era—is increasingly rare. This is a "buy once, cry never" heirloom setup.
