This scarce ""B"" Quality Remington-Hepburn No. 3 Match Rifle has the larger checkered buttstock with high comb and nickel plated Schuetzen buttplate that are features of the top end B Quality rifles. The 28"" octagon to round barrel has an excellent bore with bright, strong rifling. The caliber appears to be either 38-40 or 38-50 Remington. The barrel has approx. 97% of its original blue. It is equipped with a windage adjusatable peep front sight and rear tang sight. The receiver shows approx. 40% of its original case coloring with the remainder being a smooth silver patina. The stock and forearm are fine with sharp checkering on the pistol grip and forearm. There is very light usage wear. The stock has fancy select grain. The nickel plated Schuetzen buttplate retains approx. 50% nickel with the wear mostly in the shoulder area. The serial numbers on the forend, barrel, and receiver match.
