Seller's Inventory #: 1615
One of the finest condition examples of this 1870-80's popular big bore hunting single shot rifles we have ever seen. In the popular 40-70 sharps cartridge. About 12,000 of these were made in just about as many variations and calibers from 1868-1888 so it is an antique and can be sent directly to you. This example has ton of original condition. The 30" heavy octagon barrel retains virtually all of the original factory high polish blue with a gem mint mirror bore. The receiver retains at least 90% of the original full case colors. S-Curve stock and metal tipped forearm are excellent , never sanded, with original varnish intact. Unusual Remington globe front and high end long range tang sight. It will be a long while before you can find as nice of an example of the Wild West buffalo gun. Of course, action is like new as well. The colors on receiver are far brighter than the photo is making them look.
