Description:
This .58 caliber Original Remington 1863 Zouave Musket has a tapered round 1-1/8" to 7/8" x 33" patinaed barrel that is fitted with an adjustable military leaf rear sight, fixed front sight and bayonet lug. Stamped on the top of the barrel, just ahead of the tang, is 1863 and on the left side is Steel. The bore is good with deep rifling and light pitting 4” from the muzzle. The P grade Walnut stock is fitted with a mix of brass and steel furniture with 2 inspector’s cartouches stamped behind the top lock bolt. The large military style lock has a spread eagle, 1863, US and Remington, Ilion, NY stamped on the plate. Complete with sling swivels and metal ramrod. Length of pull is 13-1/2", overall length is 48-1/2", weight is 9 lbs. Factory wood to metal fit – made by Remington. Condition: Good. Please note: The stock is sound with the exception of scattered old usage dings. One unrepaired crack is seen on the right side of the barrel channel by the nose cap. Our stock number is A703.
