Remington-Keene Magazine Bolt Action Carbine, .45-70 Cal.  20” Barrel, Restored, ANTIQUE

Description:
          *** PRICE REDUCED ***  This Remington-Keene Magazine Bolt Action Carbine has been restored and converted to a Scout rifle with the addition of a Scope.
          The half round barrel and magazine tube are beautifully blued with no evidence of pitting on the surface. The bore is generally bright and has strong rifling with some roughness in the grooves. It might be a problem in a benchrest rifle but certainly fine in a short-range hunting rifle. The receiver, fore end cap, trigger guard and butt plate have very nice color case hardening. The bolt has been polished and jeweled, a very pleasing appearance.
          The original stock has two repaired cracks, one behind and to the left of the tang and the other on the left side at the stock screw. Both areas are pictured, the owner has sighted in the scope and hunted with this rifle having no problem. The scope is a Vortex 2-7 x 32 Crossfire II in perfect condition.
          This rifle was built as a classic .45-70 short range rifle for brush country Hogs and Deer. It worked very well.  Over a century ago some of these rifles were used by Indian police, this one would have been the envy of every one of them.
          This is a rare carbine, seldom seen, especially when restored and modified for modern hunting.

RETURNS:
Returns must be made within 3 days of receipt. They must be received in exactly the same condition with no parts exchanged.  If it has been altered, damaged, or fired, a refund will not be made.  Packing, shipping and insurance cost will not be refunded.  All layaway purchases are returnable for merchandise credit only.
 PAYMENT: 
Bank check, Personal check, and Money Orders are preferred. Visa and MasterCard are accepted with a 4% processing fee
 LAYAWAYS: 
A 20% deposit is required.  Balance is due in 30 days. Deposits are non-refundable and are forfeited after 40 days.  Layaway sales are returnable for merchandise credit only.
SALES TAX: 
Pennsylvania state sales tax is 6% for in state purchases. The payment of other states sales tax, if applicable, for shipped items is the buyers responsibility.
