Description: Remington Model 788 .243 Win. 22" Barrel Birch / Hardwood Stock 13 3/4" LOP 8lbs 5oz Scoped With 1 Magazine Weaver K4-1 Riflescope with Plex Reticle Mfg. 8/1971 Metal is in good condition, with scratches, dings and rubs. Much of the bluing on the barrel has been rubbed or scrubbed off. The plastic knob on the safety has been lost, but the safety still works. Wood is in fair to good condition, with scratches, dings, dents and gouges. There is a crack on the toe of the stock. It is serviceable but not much to look at. Scope has much of the finish worn off, but is clear and appears to function properly. This rifle has spent its life protecting the herd of a Nevada rancher from coyotes, being carried in the saddle scabbard or behind the seat of a pickup. This would make a great project gun, or a starter for a beginner. Bore is good with strong rifling.
