Description:
Standard configuration Remington 1903-A3 as manufactured between 1942-1944, this example, a mid-production rifle dated 1943, chambered in .30-06, having a hooded, serrated, drift adjustable front sight and improved fully adjustable rear sight, elevation graded 2-8. “RA/flaming bomb/2-43” on the top of the barrel near the front sight.”U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3/3459013” on top of the chamber. Blued bolt assembly, handle and bolt head marked with an “R”. Ordnance seal and a boxed “FJA” on the left side of the stock, near the stamped trigger guard/floorplate, and encircled “P” on the bottom of the grip. Sheet metal buttplate, cross-hatched on base with trapdoor for cleaning implements.
Condition:
VG/EXC original condition rifle, a nice mix of parkerized and salt blued parts with wear appropriate to a lightly used military rifle, most of the scuffing on the bottom of the trigger guard/floorplate and a scattering of dings on the stock. Bright bore. Correct manual mechanics. A very nice Remington Model 03-A3 rifle that should please any collector of U.S. military rifles from WWII.
