This is a Remington manufactured Mosin that has been converted to "Drill Rifle" by Remington after the Russians had defaulted on the contracts in WW1. The barrel was shortened from 31.6 Inches to 24 Inches, the length of the Springfield 1903. The rifles were not given serial numbers and did not have front or rear sights. These rifles were commonly sold to private military institutions. As they were made for drill, the firing pin was shortened to make them non-firing. This rifle is in excellent condition. 7.62x54R
