SUPER RARE Remington Model 121 Fieldmaster SMOOTH BORE 22 Cal Rifle. Only 3,000 made!
Description: Remington Model 121 Fieldmaster Smooth Bore 22 cal. pump rifle. Approximately only 3,000 were made pre-WWII to 1952. This one has a barrel date code "RJ" for November 1940, so it is one of the earliest ones produced! Typical Model 121 configuration with plain pistol grip walnut butt stock, walnut fore end with 38 factory grooves, 24" round barrel, 2/3 magazine, pump action, push button safety on trigger guard, slide release at bottom of frame, take down frame with screw on left side of receiver, blued finish to all metal parts, checkered steel Remington butt plate, and classic tear drop ejection port on right side of receiver. Fires 22 cal short, long and long rifle shot cartridges only! CONDITION: Barrel and mag tube retain 70% thinning original blue. Original walnut stocks show typical nicks, dings and scratches from use but no splits, no cracks, no extra holes, never sanded or refinished. Action locks up like a drum, and so does the take down feature - no wobble. Barrel is marked "22 CAL SMOOTH BORE" at breech and retains the original single bead front sight. Left side of receiver is marked "THE FIELDMASTER TRADE MARK MODEL 121" and "Remington REG. US. PAT. OFF." with serial number 42894 below that marking. Receiver retains 50% original thinning blue. Bore is bright and shiny, a 9.5 of 10, with just minimal use showing, no pits, no frost, no damage whatsoever. With the Remington factory (about 45 minuted from my house) permanently closed, these Ilion-made Remington rifles are quickly going up in price and are becoming collectors prizes. Don't miss out on this piece of American gun-making history! TERMS: No international sales. Must ship to FFL or C&R license holder (sales within New York State require FFL only). Please be aware of what is legal in your state. 3 day non-firing inspection and sold as a collector item only. Not warranted safe to fire until checked out by a competent gunsmith. Buyer pays return shipping. Payment by bank check, personal check or money order. All major credit cards accepted with 4% convenience fee added. FREE SHIPPING by USPS Priority Mail with tracking and insurance included. Always interested in used long guns and used antique handguns so please contact me if you have anything for sale or trade. 315.251.4799 with questions or concerns.
