RARE Remington 760 carbine 35 rem custom shop president owned
Description: Offered out of my personal collection is a very special remington pump carbine rifle. This is a 1 of 1 custom shop built Remington 760 carbine chambered in 35 remington and built in a left handed basketweave configuration. Correct 35 rem magazine with the box around it. Left handed safety and correct stepped receiver that was only used on BDL basketweave deluxe guns. The basketweave configuration was only offered in 30-06, 270, and 308. A carbine model was not offered in this configuration. This gun was built for Roland H Coleman who was the president of Remington from 1964-1974. He was also the chairman of the board for Bucknell University and founder/director of the Wildlife Management Institute of Washington, D.C. A custom shop gold plate has been embedded into the stock with his initials. I will send a printed letter from remington stating that this gun was purchased by Mr. Coleman and I will also include an email chain discussion with Eugene Myszkowski who is the author of Remington Autoloading & Pump-Action Rifles. He was the expert on these rifles and gave me some scenarios of how the rifle came to be and confirmed its authenticity. The condition of the rifle is good but has definitely been hunted with. There is one small crack in the forend that was there when I purchased it. The rifle has a Leupold vari-x 2 scope. The alphabetical date code is EW for October of 1972. There was only 456 760 carbines in 35 remington built from 1964-1967 in the wing pattern configuration, these are considered the "holy grail" of remington 760 collecting. This is a very interesting carbine that is most likely the only one ever built in this configuration from the factory. I wish it could tell its stories. Would be an excellent addition to any remington collection. Will ship from my FFL to your FFL. Happy to answer any questions, I've done as much research on this gun as I could do. $15,000 or best offer.
