Remington .22 cal. Bolt Action Model 521T - excellent original condition - perfect for new shooters, hunters and plinkers
Description: Remington came out with this rifle in 1947 for “beginning shooters ...light enough for youngsters ...yet have all the match target features.”* The 521-T is the ideal starting rifle for a young person. Its fully adjustable peep sights, sling and bolt action enable the shooter to learn how to sight-in properly, hold properly using the sling and a safely handle a modern rifle. That said, this is not a shrunken or reduced size rifle, it has a 25 inch barrel and weighs seven pounds four onces. The only thing it is Junior to is a normal target rifle like the Remington 513-T weighing 9 pounds with a 27 inch barrel. As a young teenager my first rifle was a single shot .22 cal. Remington . I had that rifle for two years and did a lot of shooting with it. I then decided that owning a bolt action single shot wasn’t cool and traded it in for this Model 521T. About the same time I got access to a S&W K-22 and that became my preferred firearm to shoot. A couple years with the K-22 and I graduated to shotguns and high powered rifles for hunting. This lonely 521-T had at most 5 or 10 boxes of shells put through it. If the next owner continues give it good care and keep it in original condition, a collectors premium will enhance it’s value. Less than 67,000 were made between 1947 and 1968. Meanwhile it’s a great target or hunting rifle for all ages. If a person finds the stock too short use a “slip on” a rubber recoil pad. “The turnbolt action features dual locking lugs and extractors and is of cock-on-opening type. A safety indicator pin protrudes from the end of the bolt when the action is cocked. The detachable box magazine holds 6 rounds. The American walnut stock is of high-comb target type with the full close pistol grip and beavertail fore-end preferred by target shooters. Sling swivels are standard and the front swivel is adjustable to 7 positions to accommodate differences in arm length. A 1" military type leather sling is furnished with each rifle. Sighting equipment is a Patridge square front blade and Lyman 57RS aperture rear with va-minute click adjustments for windage and elevation. Over-all length of the Model 52I-T is 43"; barrel length. 25"; weight sproximately 7 lbs. Takedown of Model 52IT is accomplished by ® removing box magazine ... and loosening takedown screw ... just forward of magazine opening in magazine guide plate... Stock can now be removed from action.”** Buy this great American rifle for only $450 plus $50 shipping to the lower 48. Besides making an excellent investment, you’ll have a very good rifle for a beginning shooter regardlesss of age, a great rifle for small game hunting, semi serious target shooting*** or just plinking. Will ship to your F.F.L. dealer in lower 48 via USPS. Postal m.o. is the best but will accept other m.o’s. and personal checks. The latter must clear before weapon is shipped to your FFL. Your FFL Dealer needs to be able to accept guns from private seller. *************** SALE PENDING *************** * Remington American Rifle News June 1950 ** from excellent “bevfitchett”site *** Remington had and has more expensive and heavier (9+ lbs.) models for serious match shooters.
