The Remington UMC Model 12 Gallery Special Pump-Action Rifles were made from 1909 to 1936. During the 37-year period, there were 820,759 guns sold, and it was available in several different configurations. This Remington Model 12B Gallery Special was manufactured in October 1912. The Model 12B "Galley Special" was chambered for 22 Short Only and was used primarily for indoor and portable shooting ranges. This one is matching and has retained about 90% of its original finish. While there isn't a lot of actual finish loss, there is brown patina and light spotty oxidation throughout. There is general high edge wear and some light scratches and handling marks here and there along the barrel. There is no major damage to the wood furniture, but there are obvious dings and scratches throughout. The bore has decent rifling. .22 Short
