REMINGTON Model 1901 7mm MAUSER Rolling Block C&R
Early 20th Century Military Contract Rifle
Description: REMINGTON Model 1901 7mm MAUSER Rolling Block C&R
Early 20th Century Military Contract Rifle
Here we present an antique Remington Rolling Block Rifle, made under a South American contract circa the early 1900s and chambered in 7mm Mauser. The Remington Rolling Block rifle is a breech-loading rifle that was produced from the mid-1860s into the early 20th century by E. Remington and Sons (later Remington Arms Company). The action was very strong and could easily withstand the increased pressure of the new smokeless powders coming into use by the late 1880s. The Remington Rolling Block had a sturdy, simple action that was relatively inexpensive, just what many governments wanted in the latter half of the 19th Century.
The overall condition is good. The iron parts have a gray patina. The markings are worn though most are legible. The walnut stock shows lots of use. The upper handguard does have a split from the front to the rear sight as well as a small split from the rear, about 2 inches in length. The bore is in very good condition with strong rifling. The action remains strong.
This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
Barrel is 30 inches.
Caliber: 7mm Mauser
Overall condition as seen in photos.
