ROARING 20s Era Single Shot TAKEDOWN RIFLE

Here we present a C&R Remington Rolling Block New Model No. 4 Rifle in .22 Rimfire, made circa 1926 to 1933 in Ilion, New York. Production on the Number 4 began in 1890 and had a production run that continued until 1933. In 1901, the “Takedown” feature was introduced and continued until the end of the production in 1933. There was a total of approximately 356,000 of these rifles produced.

This rifle is the classic “boy’s” rifle. It was also Remington’s smallest and lightest Rolling Block. The later “takedown” rifles handily broke down into two pieces with just the flip of a lever, which changed over to a screw in 1926. Being a single shot, it naturally instills the “make your one shot count” mentality from a young age.

The overall condition is fine. Original finish preserved. Strong action. Semi-bright bore. The stock is in excellent shape. Sharp markings. Numbers match.
