This is a vintage Remington rifle model 550-1 chambered in 22 caliber. This rifle shoots 22 short, long or long rifle. It is a good old gun that functions well but has some visible wear. The barrel has several scuffs, and the stock is worn from handling. The scope has patina. Most notably, the receiver and scope were engraved with a name and social. They‚ve been filed down and colored over, but not professionally and it looks bad.

That said, this is a great shooter and could be a great project gun.



The Remington Model 550-1 is a classic, semi-automatic tube-fed .22 caliber rimfire rifle famous for its unique \"floating chamber\" design that allows it to fire mixed loads interchangeably. It was manufactured from 1941 to 1971 by Remington Arms.
