The Remington Model 1903A3 is one of the most iconic American military bolt-action rifles of World War II. Produced by Remington between 1942 and 1944, the 03-A3 was a simplified and more economical version of the earlier M1903 Springfield, incorporating stamped steel components and a receiver-mounted aperture (peep) rear sight that many shooters consider superior to the original barrel-mounted sight. Chambered in the powerful .30-06 Springfield, it features a 24-inch barrel, a 5-round internal magazine loaded with stripper clips or individual cartridges, and a rugged bolt-action design renowned for its strength, reliability, and accuracy. Although the M1 Garand had become the U.S. military‚s standard service rifle, the 03-A3 continued to see widespread service throughout World War II, particularly in training, stateside duties, and specialized roles, with many remaining in use during the Korean War.
