REMINGTON Model 514 .22 Caliber Rimfire SINGLE SHOT Bolt Action Rifle C&R
VERY NICE Hunting/Plinking Rimfire Rifle
Description: REMINGTON Model 514 .22 Caliber Rimfire SINGLE SHOT Bolt Action Rifle C&R VERY NICE Hunting/Plinking Rimfire Rifle Here we present a C&R Remington Model 514 Single Shot Bolt Action Rifle, chambered in .22 Caliber Rimfire, made circa the 1950s in Elion, New York. This very nice little single shot had a manufacturing run between 1948 and 1971 with a total production of 770,932 rifles made. This example came with a standard barrel and sights. Another 5,617 were made with “Routledge Bore” barrels, which were meant for use only with .22 LR Shot loads and came with a shotgun style bead front sight. These rifles came with a 24” smoothbore barrel with a bore diameter of .22 that opens up to .40 for the last 12 inches of the barrel. The Routledge Bore Model 514 was never in the Remington catalog and was available only on special order. The design originated with Michigan trap shooter and gunsmith Fred Routledge in 1938. As mentioned, this single shot bolt action is chambered in .22 rimfire, capable of handling Shorts, Longs, and Long Rifle rounds. This rifle has always been considered a basic, accurate shooter. That was Remington’s intent, as the rifle was brought into the market to compete with similarly elemental and inexpensive rimfires from Stevens, Savage, and other sporting models. At introduction in 1948, it would set a young boy back the pricey sum of $14. The overall condition is fine. Original finish. Strong, smooth action. Bright bore, nicely rifled. The stock is solid with an average amount of wear. Sharp markings. Original buttplate. Own the original! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 24-3/4 inches. Caliber: .22 Rimfire (S, L, LR) Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1050 #227148 SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
