SCARCE Remington Model 14 1/2 Rifle in the Desired 44-40 Winchester!
Description: ******* SALE PENDING DAVE IN PA ******* ******* Fall special - Free Shipping!! ******* Scarce Remington Model 14 1/2 in the desirable 44 Rem/44-40 Winchester caliber with 22.5" round barrel, full magazine, plain pistol grip walnut butt stock with correct "upside down" butt plate, walnut grooved fore arm, open sights, pump action, 10-shot capacity, with a correct Lyman receiver peep sight properly marked "R14" on the underside of the base, serial number 111168, barrel date code "BY" indicates manufacture in January 1930. CONDITION: Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, never sanded or refinished, still tight and proud. There is a very small grain check on the left side of the butt stock. Typically these stocks split up near the receiver and at the front end of the fore arm. Thankfully this piece is void of those blemishes. Bore is near mint, super bright and shiny, very sharp rifling, rated at 9.75 of 10 only because it has been fired and can't be listed as "new." Receiver and barrel retain 70% bright original blue with some carry wear to the underside front of receiver and a couple of nicks on the barrel. All markings are crisp. Mag tube correctly has the two retaining bands and retains 50% original blue due to proper function of the action (when the fore arm is pumped to eject the spent shell and load the next one, the entire magazine tube assembly slides, which is the way this model was designed). Rifle retains the original and correct front and rear sights. Peep sight operates perfectly, as does the action. Seldom offered for sale, these are highly desired by collectors and shooters alike, so don't miss out! No international sales. Must ship to FFL or C&R license (recent changes in NY State law requires shipment to an FFL only if going to a NY State buyer). Payment by personal check, bank check or postal money order (sorry no credit cards). 3 day non-firing inspection. Buyer pays return shipping. Packed with care and shipped USPS Mail with tracking.
