CUSTOM C. SHARPS MADE IN BIG TIMBER, MONTANA, 1885 HIGHWALL SINGLE SHOT IN .30-40 KRAG CALIBER. These are beautifully made rifles on the Winchester pattern thick side Highwall action that is known for its fast lock time and strength. This one has a 28" #3 weight half-octagon barrel (medium weight and standard in antique Winchester Highwall rifles in this caliber). The barrel is fitted with a full buckhorn folding ladder rear sight with elevation slide paired with a globe front sight that will take inserts (a post insert in in the globe now). It is also fitted with a C. Sharps marked mid-range fully adjustable for windage and elevation vernier tang sight. The semi-fancy walnut stock and forend show some nice grain and are a n attractive deep brown color. The butt is fitted with a case colored checkered steel shotgun butt plate. The receiver is case colored and the trigger pull is light and crisp. Overall, this rifle appears about new and unfired. These are always back ordered with a long delivery wait time. This one is also in a great, traditional caliber that was quite popular in Winchester Highwalls in the late 1890s to early 1900s. A super hunting or target rifle. Weighs approx. 10 1/2 lbs.
