Excellent Dr. Gary White Colonial .60 Caliber Smoothbore Flintlock
Description: Serial #NSN, .60 caliber, black powder, 42.25 inch part octagon part round barrel with a bright, excellent bore that appears unfired. This is a "G.B. WHITE" marked colonial style flintlock smoothbore muzzleloader built by Dr. Gary Banks White who was a well respected gun maker, founder of the "Green River Rifle Works" in 1972. He passed away in 2022 after a lifetime of historic reproduction gun building and innovative gun creation. This fine example of "Doc's" work remains in excellent condition with the browned barrel showing almost no wear with nearly all, 99% plus of the original finish as does the lock and hammer which shows only a few scratches on the frizzen. The striped maple stock is likewise excellent with very nice wood grain pattern. All brass furniture are bright and shiny with hand engraved cannon and drum scene on the buttplate. There is a silver escutcheon at the wrist ready for engraving. The brass tipped wood ramrod is excellent. The lock functions properly holding at half and full cock releasing with a crisp trigger pull. It comes with "The Leatherman" a protective leather cover for the action. A beautiful example of a historic pattern musket in near new, unfired condition from a very well respected maker. Antique SOLD |
