Lonestar Rolling Block Rifle
Description:
Replica of the Remington No. 1 Sporting Rifle made by Lonestar Rifle Company of Texas. It is in .45/70 caliber with a heavy 30" octagonal barrel. The barrel has high gloss blue finish overall with no wear. The top of the barrel has been drlled and tapped for scope blockswith filler screws present. Scope blocks for this rifle are included with it but not attached. The barrel front sight is a hooded post by Warner. No dovetail is present on the barrel for a rear sight. On the tang is mounted a Warner soule type long-range vernier sight. The frame has all the original brilliant color casehardening remaining as does the triggergaurd. Double set triggers are present. The hammer and breechblock are each blued as are the action pins and screws. Walnut forend is mounted with a color casehardened steel nosecap. The pistol grip buttstock is mounted with a checkered steel Lonestar monogrammed buttplate which is also color casehardened. The stock has nice figure and is beautifully finished and fitted to the action. Overall condition is about new. Modern long gun rules apply.
