MASSIVE, FANCY CUSTOM C. SHARPS, BIG TIMBER, MT 1874 LONG RANGE .45-90, 34” EXTRA HEAVY OCT., WEIGHS 15 ½ LBS. This is a most unusual C. Sharps rifle that features extra fancy walnut, blued barrel that measures 1 1/8” at the muzzle, cheek piece with accent line, checkered pistol grip and forearm, pewter tip, smooth steel shotgun butt plate, single trigger with very light crisp pull, no rear barrel sight dovetail,, long range Soule tang sight adjustable for elevation and windage with globe and spirit level front sight that will accept inserts. Barrel has the usual “OLD RELIABLE”  and C. SHARPS MARKINGS ETC.  Unusual custom serial number is 74-XX1 (each X stands for a letter or an initial). The caliber is stamped on top of the barrel in the traditional manner “CAL 45  2 4/10” which is the case length for .45-90. Aside from some light handling marks in the stock and forearm this one appears to have seen very limited use and is in excellent condition inside and out. This is a big, heavy rifle that will soak up recoil from the powerful .45-90 cartridge. The current catalog price on this one would be approx. $5400 with a long wait time. My price $4250.
