Whitworth (Manchester, England) African Series Model 458 Win. Mag. bolt action rifle built using an Interarms Mark X mauser-style action and 23" barrel (gloss blued.) European walnut stock with nice graining, ebony forend tip, cross-bolted. Silvers-style red recoil pad featuring the Whitworth logo. 3 leaf folding open express sight regulated for 100, 200, and 300 yds on a quarter-rib style raised mount. Bolt handle flattened and knurled, pistol grip cap also knurled. Trigger pull lightened to accurize. Barrel band for sling. Both wood and metal in Excellent condition (Wood is much darker than depicted, due to the camera flash). (2) 1/2 boxes of factory ammo (incl. used brass) included. Gun fired approximately 25 times (sighting, practice, and 1 buffalo in one shot by my son in extremely hot weather!) Missing front sight hood and blueing rubbed off of stock cross-bolt nut compliments of the sweaty buffalo hunt (Very minor issues!) Perfect for the Big 5 at modest range, Moose, big Bears, and Bison. A snap to ream out to .458 Lott for real aficionados! (~8.5 lbs., est. 11.5 lbs. if you added scope/mounts/rings/sling.) Very accurate (even w/ the open sights to 200 yards) and a pleasure to shoot as compared to even bigger dangerous game cartridges!!!
