Full custom Mauser in .375 H&H by the late Bob Emmons of Grafton, Ohio. Built on a commercial mauser action with 24" barrel with banded ramp front sight, banded sling swivel, and quarter rib with one standing and two folding leaf express sights. Leupold M8-4X scope with duplex mounted in Len Brownell lever release rings with custom bases. Front base integral to the quarter rib. Custom pear shaped bolt handle. Three position side swing safety. Drop box magazine with straddle floorplate and trigger bow release. Stocked in Amrican Classic style with a very nice piece of English Walnut with strong color and contrast as well as strong fiddleback figure. Shadowline pancake cheekpiece. Two screw inletted rear sling swivel. Fisher two screw steel grip cap. Superbly inletted and checkered with a borderless point pattern. Ebony forend tip. 13 3/4" LOP to a black Decelerator pad. Neutral cast. 9lb 3oz with scope and 8lb 6oz without. Mr. Emmons was part of the old guard of top tier post war American gunmakers. He started stocking guns in 1936 at age 20. He was also an accomplished photographer and did much of the photography in the Monty Kennedy treatise "The Checkering and Carving of Gunstocks" published in 1952 by Samworth Press. This piece remains as new from the maker with a few very light handling marks. It has obviously never been hunted. It is an extremely well done big bore and ready to go to work.
