SPECIAL ORDER MARLIN 1893 .30-30 HALF OCT. HALF MAG. #238XXX, MADE 1902. The receiver case colors on the right side have faded to a mottled gray with some case color left on the left side and traces in the protected areas around the lever and hammer etc. The barrel shows good blue that is thinning in areas. The short mag tube shows blue on the top portion with the bottom gray. This one has a tang sight at one time as the two factory drilled and tapped holes in the upper tang are empty and there is vivid case color where the tang sight fit. There is also a small notch in the forward portion of the comb just behind the tang where the tang sight top touched the stock. The stock and forearm show normal handling with tight wood to metal fit and no sanding etc. The rear barrel sight is a replacement small buckhorn in the factory dovetail with a Rocky Mountain blade front sight. Exc. markings overall. Tight mechanically, secure safety half cock and excellent bore. Nice 124 year old special order Marlin.
