Steyr Mannlicher Schönauer M72, .270 Win Bolt-Action Rifle
Description: Mannlicher Schönauer M72 L/M, .270 Winchester, bolt-action rifle with a 20-inch high-polished blued barrel, full walnut stock with oil-rubbed finish, five-round internal magazine, double-set trigger, jeweled bolt, sling swivels studs, vented recoil pad, and a Zeiss Diatal-Z 6x42 T* scope, as well as a front sight and a mount for a rear sight. The magazine floor plate is engraved with a buck-doe-fawn deer scene surrounded by a floral pattern. The trigger guard, receiver, bolt handle, and scope rings are engraved with the same floral pattern. From what I understand, engravings on the Mannlicher Schönauer is rare. The overall length of the rifle is 40; its length of pull is 14½ inches, its unloaded weight is approximately 7.2 pounds. With a three-digit serial number, its year of manufacture is 1976. This rifle is on consignment with me. The owner says he bought it years ago in Belgium, while stationed in Germany. He said he zeroed it and took it deer hunting in Germany. Other than that he hasn’t fired it. He does not know who many rounds were fired through it before he bought it. Given its condition, it has not been fired much. The overall condition of this gun is 99+ percent. I hesitate to assess any gun at 100 percent, unless it’s new-in-the-box, but if I were going to, this would be it. The finishes on the metal and wood are very excellent, like new. The blued is like new with no scratches, mars, blemishes, or other signs of wear – 100 percent. The receiver also is in very excellent condition with no scratches, mars, blemishes, or other signs of wear – 100 percent. The oil-rubbed walnut stock also is in very excellent condition; the checkering is deep and crisp with no sign of wear – 100 percent. The butt plate is in perfect condition. There are no box, papers, or accessories with this rifle, aside from the Zeiss scope. The photos are high resolution, so zoom to see details. Contact me for additional photos of any area you would like to see or see better. The buyer pays $65 for USPS Priority mail and $76.85 for insurance. Virginia buyers must pay 5.3% sales tax. The fastest way to get this gun is to pay with USPS (U.S. Postal Service) money orders, as they are like cash. I will ship the revolver immediately upon receipt of a USPS money order and an FFL. I will also accept a personal check or other type money, as well as bank checks and cashier's checks, but I will hold the gun until it clears my bank; this includes bank checks and cashier’s checks. I do not accept credit cards, debit cards, or PayPal. Check or money order must be made out to Jerry Pownall or Barboursville Arms. If you wish to contact me, please "Email Seller". I will answer your questions, explain the purchase / transfer process, and provide my mailing address. I am available any time, except Friday evenings and Saturdays. I will return emails Saturday evening. SOLD |
