Early Japanese Tanegashima

Description:
This is an early Japanese Tanagashima from a design from the 1650's when a Portuguese trading ship ran aground on the Island of Tanagashemsima.
Several Japanese tradesman boarded the ship, saw the match locks and had the Samurai Sword makers duplicate it.
To begin, this one is 53' long with a 42' barrel with the tradional Lotus Flower muzzle.
The octagonal barrel is inlaid with a writhing sterling silver dragon.
On each of the side of the stock are four Royal Chrisanthemums, the left side near the trigger guard there are four more.The stock and some metal parts have small enraved plaquess with owners family  name and thhe name of the sword maker who built it with japanese writing denoting the owener and the sword maker who made it.
The condition is super  fretaing about 95+% of the lacquer.
