*Sale Pending* - NICE LOOKING DBL RIFLE BY R.B. RODDA & CO. CAL 577/500 No.2 BPE
Description:
Fine old English double rifle which is the under lever design with hammer style action locks. 26-1/4 inch barrels chambered in 577/500 No. 2 BPE caliber. Very good bores with sharp rifling and it should make a great shooter. Also this gun features a two leaf flip up platinum line rear and a low-profile silver bead front sight. Barrels retain about 50-60% of a reapplied aged blue brown finish. Lockplates retain about 85% of the same rust blue finish while the action and triggerguard have mostly turned a pleasant gray/brown patina. Lockplates retain faded markings that are still legible. The checkered walnut capped pistolgrip buttstock has signs of an old repair in the wrist that seems to be sound and solid which should make it quiet serviceable. Overall the rest of the wood shows considerable amounts of use. Equipped with sling eyes. This double rifle has a lot of character and seems to have been well-used on some overseas big game hunts in Africa or India.
