The barrel was expertly contoured to the stock channel with the stock not altered and carrying the Gibbs serial number in the barrel channel. Island front sight, barrel band sling eye, and three leaf express rear sight with one standing and two folding leaves. Originally built on a 1925 Mauser Single Square Bridge magnum length action with drop box and deep floorplate to hold three down. "SAFE" in platinum on the Mauser flag safety. Original cross-bolted stock expertly refinished. Horn pistol grip cap. 13 5/8" LOP to a new Silver's pad. 8lb 15oz Gibbs produced less than 70 .505 Gibbs rifles before WWII. This is one of them albeit with a new and correctly lettered barrel. An extreme rarity and definitely the toughest kid on the block.
